Custom orthotics are precision medical devices that are tailored for an individual to correct biomechanical misalignment (e.g. high arch or flat feet). They are inserted in shoes and also used in the treatment of a variety of lower extremity conditions such as Plantar Fasciitis.
Orthotics can relieve pain, improve skeletal alignment or improve the function of your foot and lower limbs! Custom Orthotics can be constructed and fit for many kinds of footwear and specialty athletic footwear like skates, hiking clip shoes, and ski boots. Using corrective orthoses, in some cases, is an important part of treatment plans and can help us get faster results.
On your initial assessment the Chiropodist will perform an evaluation and take a cast of your feet.
A deposit of 50% of the final cost will be collected at this time. When your Orthotics arrive, we will arrange a fitting appointment. Please bring the shoes you plan on wearing your orthotics in with you to this appointment (THIS INCLUDES SKATES!). Your everyday shoes and running shoes are needed to ensure the devices fit comfortably in both so you don’t have any problems changing them from shoe to shoe. The remainder of the fee is due at your fitting. You will leave with your orthotics and instructions of how to begin wearing them and a receipt to submit to your insurance.
